Four to six weeks out is comfortable for most San Diego events, and two weeks is usually workable. The shop is 91 straight-line miles away in Fullerton and the truck is loaded the morning of the event, so the drive isn't the constraint. Art, blanks and crew availability are.
A simple San Diego timeline
- Six weeks or more: the right window for a San Diego Convention Center show or a large biotech and life-sciences conference, where the venue's electrical order and move-in slot have their own deadlines.
- Four to six weeks: comfortable for most corporate events, activations and weddings. Send the date, venue and headcount and we lock the setup.
- Two to four weeks: usually workable. Simple art and standard blanks keep it easy.
- Under two weeks: it depends on whether a crew is free that day. Ask anyway.
What speeds things up
Have the logo or artwork ready, a rough headcount, the venue and date, and which stations you want. Final art is due about a week before the event, so the sooner that's settled, the more room there is for everything else.
Short notice? Don't assume it's too late. Send the date and we'll tell you within 24 hours whether a crew is available.

Planning notes
The dates that fill first
When a big show is on at the San Diego Convention Center, hotels, drayage and labor tighten across the county at the same time. If your event can move a week away from a major show, it's cheaper and easier to staff.
Once a San Diego job is booked, same-week changes are usually workable, since nothing has to ship.
